Ladies All Stars 2017

The Gaelic football all stars acknowledges players achievements. An award ceremony taking place from 1971. It is an insight into the best players of the year. Acknowledges up and coming stars. The official awards began in 1995. The all star player of the year is present with the FOTY award. This award is run by Texaco. The unofficial Texaco Football of the year. This is only given if he did not win the footballer of the year award. This only applies to men’s Gealic Football.

The ladies football association only began getting these awards in 1980. Ladies football give these awards slightly different to the men. Ladies association award each player from one of the 15 positions. Mary J Curran holds the women’s record in 1980 to present. Winning eleven awards between 1980 and 1993.

Player of the year award only began in ladies football from 2011. We have only had 6 years of this award. This is now cause the sport is being recognized and applauded. Three player of the year awards are given out each year. One to each category of football. One to Senior, Intermediate and Junior.
